Original Rogers heads value?

Loading...

Hi,

I have some original Rogers heads (used but not abused). For pics see my website (below). Click on Vintage, then "FOR SALE". You will see pics of the 16". The 14"s are in the same condition. Cant upload them here as an attachment-too big.

I have 2 -16" heads (batter and resonant)

and 2 -14" heads (batter and resonant) that came with my 14 x 14 floor tom.

What do you all think the value of these heads are?

I am selling the 16 x 16 floor tom, along with the matching 13/16/22 Buddy Rich kit.

Do you think I should include the heads on the drum, or sell them seperatley (and put regular coated ambassadors on the drum I am selling).

I have been advised that keeping the original heads will not change the value of the drum.

If anyone would like them please make me a reasonable offer (please email me at PK_Drums@hotmail.com ). I am not even sure if I want to sell them, unless the price is right.

Vintage Rogers heads in good shape are worth about the same as new Remo coated Ambassadors, maybe a couple dollars more. They only seem to add value to a kit when the drums are pristine, like an estate sale find.

If a set is near mint and including NOS heads will help prove the low mileage of the drums, I will include them with a kit. But usually I sell vintage drums with any old heads I have laying around, knowing the new owner will change them out anyway. I like to keep original heads in good shape because they give me a better idea of what the actual drums sounded like, back in the day.
