Orange/Amber Wooding Cristalline BD (Rare!)

Loading...

Hello. A few days ago I meet a musician and, while talking about drums, he told me there was a man in town who had a lot of old musical gear. He mentioned a strange orange acrylic bass drum, which brand name was similiar but not Ludwig, with irregular surface...

I was almost sure I knew that guy he was talking about. A few days later I got his telephone number and we arranged a meeting.

Believe ir or not, he got the bass drum on a junkyard and a couple of minutes before the rest of the kit was... carried to be DESTROYED (*cries inside*). Only the bass drum was rescued.

I end up buying the BD and had a good time listening to his stories, when he was on road as a band manager.

So... here is my last acquisition.

The shell has no cracks and it is in very good shape, only some scuffs inside maybe due too storage. The front hoop and tension rods are missing, batter tension rod missing too, and wingnuts as well.

This shell is thicker/heavier than the vistalites and its surface looks like ice, with irregular texture.

I wish I had the whole kit...

+1 I've also never seen anything like this shell. Really too bad that the rest of the kit couldn't be saved!

The drum is manufactured by MEAZZI in Milan, Italy, the same company known for MEAZZI HOLLYWOOD TRONIC DRUMS, PRESIDENT MODEL, and MOD JOLLY drums. Most likely made in late 1960s or early 1970s. If you really are interested in completing the kit you should have no problem doing so perusing Italian and or other European used drums sites, as these drums were widely marketed worldwide and well received.

That is one cool bass drum!

Sooo cool! Like it's made of old stained glass, or to be more topical Dragon Glass! John Snow would approve!

Stop stringing and tuning your instrument, make music now.
