I scored one just like that for a friend of mine once. You don't have to twist my arm too hard for my liking. Of course, it all depends on price.....some people think they should be able to get more out of it than it really is worth.....

$80 should be about right.....100 if it had the snare with it.

BTW, if that is a Japan cymbal, kimbo260 will buy it off you....trying to help him collect those, he is a fan of them.

John

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!

Thanks for the input John. They're asking $125 as is. I haven't asked about the cymbal nor have seen the kit in person.

Definitely worth $125 in my book. They hardly look used at all!

The one I scored also had all the original Morma heads onn there too.....quite a find - I was the 2nd owner.

This particular kit - it appears that this guy just bought it from a resale shop for 105 (or less) and it included more.....and now is trying to flip it for a profit. I know this from seeing the earlier CL ad by the resale shop.

Nothing wrong with that.....but one should atleast offer some expertise to prove its value.....and he has not, nor is it worth the 125, even with original heads and not played much. If it were complete, then sure - but it is not......

My guess is that Jonnistix and likely Mikey777 would echo this opinion.

The difference between this and one that any one member of this forum would sell for upwards to $200 (or even more), is RESTORATION. Most of the time this just includes cleaning up - but that takes alot of time and sometimes alot of effort. Not to mention that edge re-cutting is also part of that process typically....then maybe heads.....

Yep, good points. BUT...$125 is nothing. And it looks like a nice kit. I know part of the challenge is to buy stuff at the cheapest possible price but at this sort of money you could probably find it in loose change down the back of the sofa.

Believe it or not - here is an amended opinion.....

I say try to get it for $100, so as to not to upset the guy who is trying to flip it....even if it saves you 10 bucks it is worth it.

Next, sell the cymbal to kimbo260 and recoop some of that 100 bucks. Then it will be just right :)

Next - find a matching snare - which actually will not be that hard - you see those often, though it might not be a Norma.
