A great looking kit. I'm sure you miss them! Large lugs on the floor tom and bass drum, correct? Mini lugs on the rack tom?

yup....big lugs on BD + FT and small lugs on rack tom....great look. Not a big fan of the curved spurs. They look nice, but on a players kit, the brackets won't hold up. Interestingly, I believe those spur brackets would fair better on smaller BDs...18 or 20.

I have a Legacy in Black Limba Supernatural 22-13-16. Has new style consolette, large classic lugs and curved spurs on the kick. Small classics on the Toms. Afew months after I got it I got a matching 6.5"x14 snare with small classics. Sorry for sucky pics but I wasn't concentrating on the lugs,rail and spurs back when I took them.

Many thanks to everyone for their input on lugs, spurs, holders, etc! I respect everyone's opinion! I ordered the kit yesterday and here's what I'm getting:

14x20, large lugs, no tom mount. Curved spurs included, but not mounted. I've got a 1985 Ludwig catalog showing two kits with 14x20 bass drums and the 1308 1/2" spurs. They look good!

8x12 tom, mini lugs, tone control and P1216D bracket included but not mounted.

14x14 floor tom, large lugs, Classic legs and brackets (P1216D), tone control included but not mounted.

5x14 8-lug snare drum, Classic lugs, P-85 strainer, P-32 butt, tone control included but not mounted.

All drums wrapped in Black Galaxy Sparkle. This new finish looks great and is very 60's!

I'll install an excellent Ludwig 4-point ratchet rail consolette.

Both toms will come with Medium Coated batters and Medium Clear resonant heads.

Snare drum with Medium Coated batter and X-thin resonant head.

Bass drum with Smooth White batter and Smooth White resonant with vintage-style "Ludwig" logo. I'll most likely install white felt muffler straps for that authentic vintage look!

The only thing Ludwig would not do for me is to supply 4 consecutive serial number badges. Apparently, they're still in coffee cans and they'd have to pay someone to sift through 100's to find consecutive numbers!LoLoLoLo

I have a full set of Ludwig 60's hardware in exceptional condition for this kit!

Finally, this will NOT be a player's kit, but intended for inside use only... although it might find use in the very occasional inside gig!

I've never spent this much $$$ on one kit in my life! I love vintage American-made drums and feel that this "modern" kit is a tip-of-the-hat to the glory days of the 60's.

I will be thoroughly inspecting each drum upon arrival (minimum 8 weeks) and report my findings. Once the spurs are mounted, I'll take plenty of pictures and post them for your enjoyment!
