May not work but I'am trying. If I am successful these are my 1969 Oyster black pearls I used on stage .They were always carried in cases and about every three to 5 months I cleaned and polished them and replaced heads as needed. These drums were bought in 1970 and I chose a 1970 supraphonic snare to go with the set. The set and all hardware cost 600 plus dollars not including the cymbals(zildjan 20 ride 16" crash and 14" pair of Hi-hats and I don't remember how much they cost). These drums are all original with the exception of one tom holder, new pedal & heads. The wrap has faded very little if at all and they have not been restored except when I took them out of the cases after being stored I removed all rings and polished them and did a detailed polishing job on all the chrome along with the wrap.I also checked all the lugs and springs. What do you think, should I? I have my sons set that I am using but miss playing my originals.

Can't see the pics but would like to!:D Is your set bowling ball oyster black or the 60's version? What are the sizes? Sounds like a nice set!

I am glad someone responded as I am trying to post pictures but apparently I haven't been sucessful yet. I am going to try again. My ludwigs are not bowling ball type wrap. I am not very computor literate, but why do the pictures show up when I sign out and return to the forum later? TMTM

That is one nice kit and it looks like a 6.5" Supraphonic which is also sweet.

I would think the kit, in Ringo finish is worth at least $1200-1400 if not more.

The snare is another $400-500 easy, unless its COB and then its a grand.

JOHNG: Did you have to do anything extra to see the pictures(first time trying to post pics) or just go to the forum? BTW thanks for the valuation. I wanted an approx. value for insurance purposes in case my small studio is damaged or burns down. Also how do I line the pics up properly. I have tried to follow the webmasters instructions but they came out somewhat confusing. TMTM

I also had no problem viewing the photos, it may have been a temporary condition?

I'll certainly go along with that assessment, like John said, maybe more if the right guy came along. There won't be TOO many sets in such pristine condition and that makes it a much sought after kit.

If you're looking to insure it, make sure to add in your cymbals and stands and all the other goodies that make this a complete kit. Over insure it a bit if it doesn't break the bank as you'll never really REPLACE such a kit.

Very nice, thanks for sharing the pictures!!

Thanks for the opinions & value estimate. After burning my brain out trying to remember the exact price I paid for the drums my WIFE has reminded me that the cymbles were included in the $600 plus price(1970). She has always been the financial bookeeper for the family so she must be correct. Now that I have finally learned how to post pictures I'll try to post more pictures of the drums I have.TMTM
