It's your drum. Do what you feel comfortable with doing. Just remember to fully disclose the info if you decide to sell it. Whatever you do I know you will do it well.

From Purdie Shuffle

Even -I- have three legs! :p LOLJohn

That's what I waiting to hear!!! LoLoLoLo

Longjohn your right on the 4 legs. I have a 20" with 4 legs and it can be kinda wonky to setup. 3 is nice I set the rear height on 2 and use the 3rd to slightly angle towards me. Easy to adjust on the fly.

Jeff this is gonna be a cool drum buddy!! That'll be nice to use with the other Slingys. Good luck and throw some pics up when you can of the progress!!

Glenn.

if the 4 legs makes the drum particularly identifiable, then leave it 4 leg if at all possible.

Be kinda like unstaggering teardrop lugs.

As for performance, I think 3 legs is better. Less metal on shell, less contact with floor, easier to work with.

Thank you everyone for your opinions. I am strongly leaning toward three legs just to be done with it. I like the idea that its easier to adjust three as opposed to four.

Glenn, I will take some pics for sure. Its looking as though my new band will be doing our first gig on the 26th of Oct. So, I hope to get this drum together because I think I want to play my Slingerland kit for the gig. If so, I will get some pics from the gig. It will be a night time gig, whats the cheapest way to light up the kit so I can show it off?

Thank you!
