Hard to tell manufacturer by the one shot. You got a link? I keep defaulting to Olympic. Not a great price I'd say - missing all resos and hoops, though appears to be in okay shape otherwise. Re-rings?

Looks to a Pearl by the lugs and I believe that wrap has been identified on the Forum as a Pearl exclusive....you don't see many of these, especially all matching...

I dunno - I've collected quite a few MIJ kits over the last year, and this one is hard to nail down. Finish is nice yes, but it has the thicker shells with no re-rings, and that missing bass hoop, (and inlay) may be hard to track down. Not original strainer, (Ludwig). Not sure what the shipping is, but if it were me, I think I'd take a pass. For that kind of money, you should be able to get a complete kit, (maybe not on ebay). I'm guessing that it might even be a higher end Hoshino. Lugs are not tell-tale Pearl, or Star from my experience, but the jury is still out on a lot of these old MIJ kits, perhaps someone else here has a more definitive identification. Ultimately it's your call if you're really into it. Just my opinion.

Cool set but alittle over on starting bid + 125.00 shipping...Olympian drums were made by Pearl this set looks to be from the very late 60's too maybe 1971 the shells are 7 ply with out rings. The finish is a hard one to fine and in a matching 4 piece set.To bad that someone replaced the strainer and butt plate with a Ludwig. These strainers you can fine i still get them in boxes of parts i buy today...Oh T-rods are 12/24 threads not matric..So with the strainer and the hardest thing to fine the bass drum rim with inlay...I would think a fair starting bid would be 125.00 and 100.00 shipping....Mikey

Okay, this is a little more like it - this one just popped up on this side of the border. Too much of a hike from my location unfortunately, but otherwise I'd probably snag it. Finish looks very similar to original one posted, and the price is right I think.

I think Mikey is being too generous, I buy those all the time in used gear places for under $100. $125 + $100 shipping = $225, that's pretty steep for a set missing so many parts if you ask me. That ratty looking cymbal probably does not add much value and the hoops, tensioners, and heads are going to set you back another $100 at least. That comes to $325 for a four piece MIJ kit with no Hi-Hat and no BD pedal? Are you kidding me?

I'd say a grand total of $300 is absolute top dollar for most 5 piece MIJ kits with all hardware included. For a 4 piece, maybe $250 or so. But an incomplete set like this one? $125 is fair as long as you don't have to pay shipping.

And $100 for shipping? Geeze, I shipped a comparable set last year for $65.
