Old Zilco cymbal...

Loading...

OK, here's one for the cymbal experts.

9" Zilco thin crash (splash) cymbal. Weighs 200 grams.

This came with a couple of beat-up Ludwig drums out of the 1920s from someone's garage. The cymbal needs cleaned (if possible).

The second picture is from the sister-site, but adequately shows the stamp.

I need ideas on it's value.

Thanks,

Bill

Well, I hope this wasn't a mistake... I did a "sold" search on eBay, and found similar ones selling for $30-35. So, I put it up on eBay early this morning at a BIN of $34.99 + shipping... and it's already sold!

I cant see the stamp pic clearly..

*If it says made in USA and constaniolpe...

its a 1936/42 model..! easily worth $80/150...in the right hands..

If theres no mention of these words...then $30/60 is fine..

But from the pic / I had a set of 11 3/4 " hats from this erra..

they were really light..(@200g top / 250g bottom)..

sold them as a set for $150 about a year or two back..

All it had in the "stamp" was:

Typical "Turkish" symbols

Typical curved sword

ZILCO

TRADE MARK

No mention of where it was made...

Personally, I'm OK with what I got out of it. This "lot" was given to me... I got $200 out of the BD (1920s Ludwig) with a LOT of issues that I sold "as is." I got almost $500 out of the Ludwig 10-lug snare drum (also from the 1920s) that basically all I did was clean it up. And even after that it was in no-where near mint condition.

And like I said, this lot was just given to me by someone who was simply cleaning out their garage. They refused even a share of the sales...

I've still got an old woodblock that came with it all, too, but there are no markings of any kind on it...

Speaking of Zilco cymbals - have a 20 inch ride I am selling - see the FS. It is 2452 grams - very warm and dark - CLASSY Cool Dude

I am uploading a video - will likely take all night to process (convert tofile) then upload to YT. Stay tuned for a video....or perhaps even get a hold of me for first dibs on this cymbal.....110 plus shipping from 49285.

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!
