I think this is it. Bid about 12.65, it will be yours. I know that because I am bidding on it.

its the correct time period I believe, however the throw off I"m in need of has only two mounting holes, not three points as this one does. Thank you though!:)

You can use a modern Ludwig throw by tweaking the arms on it slightly. I use one on my Pioneer because the original lets go on gigs. bill d.

It is called the Pioneer Strainer... don't know the model number, but if you refer to it as that, then most anyone should know you are not referring to the P-83, P -85, Classic, or Universal. Maybe the Rob Cook book will have a model number?

kevins - Was it called the Pioneer strainer back in the early days (1918) or is that what we drum enthusiasts have now come to call it for lack of a better way to identify it.

The # for that strainer is P-338. Very hard to find, and when you do, they can be $100 or more.

It could be the first reference Ludwig made to anything Pioneer. I would like to see if there are anymore references to the Pioneer stuff in the 1923 catalog but I’m not finding anything about it. Do you remember what page you saw that strainer listed? Please point me towards it.Clapping Happy2
