Old Ludwig Marching Snare Please Help ID - Page 1

Hello everyone. Awesome website. I hope this works. I have been trying, in vain, to ID this old Ludwig & Ludwig Marching snare. Really hoping someone here has seen this one before and can give me some details.

I will add some pictures if it is not too hard. 16 X 12 roughly. Oval badge says only Ludwig & Ludwig Chicago. Yellowish/Gold Sparkle finish. Wood Hoops! Inset sparkle on hoops. Gut snare. Tension rods say Patent Pend at each end. Please please help me figure this one out. Thanks in advance for your time and knowledge. Your brother in drums, Gary

From your description it sounds like the "Champion"

Without pictures it is hard to say for sure, but from your description

that is what it sounds like.

Does it have tube lugs?

I think other then that you described the drum pretty good and there is not much more to say about it unless you have specific questions about it.
