I have acquired an old Leedy drum set. I am trying to gather information about it and thought it best just to come to the experts. I have spent a little on the net looking around and haven't come up with much of anything. I have more pictures other than the ones I have posted on the thread if anybody was interested in seeing. I guess just let me know. Any help or information would be GREATLY appreciated.
Old Leedy Drum Set Questions
Hi and welcome to the forum! This is a great place to explore for information. For example: If you use the pull down menus that are located at the top of the page (just underneath the Vintage Drum Forum logo) then you will find "The Vintage Drum Guide". Literally every forum regarding vintage drums uses us and uses the Vintage Drum Guide regularly to help identify their vintage sets.
I found an old Leedy catalog from the 40's that yoru set kind of resembles.
Check it out:

wow...that's it exactly! I figured it won't take too long for somebody to help out. I'll go check out that link and see what else I can find. Thanks a ton! Any other thoughts?
Well, not exactly... The Leedy Dreadnaught sets were made during WWII when metals were being rationed, so their lugs were made of wood.
I think the Broadway Palladium on this 1950 catalog page is another close relative, although it's not a perfect match either. (Your bass drum is single tension, to note one difference.)
The size of the drums are: Snare: 6x14, Tom: 6x11, Tom: 9x13, Bass: 14x26. Does this help?
I knew someone would start to dial this in! I don't really know much about this era of Leedy drums, but I just wanted to get the ball rolling and point out the helpful links....because once you get started exploring this site, you can pretty much find out anything you ever wanted to know abut vintage drums!Bowing
