Can someone tell me the age of this old K?[Attachment: 19785]
Old K question
7263 years. Give or take 7203 years or so.
I ran out of fingers and toes. Ha Ha. So are you thinking 50`s ?
Yes ... or earlier. I'm not the cymbal guy. I know just enough to annoy. Others will be along shortly that should be able to narrow it down to the day of the week. Those guys know their stuff.
Looks like a twin to my 21.5" ...have you measured or weighed it?
That's one of the later ones (I'm not the day/week guy) but I think 60's or 70's. Those were the last real K's to me. The mark I've circled on the one I attached designates it. I don't consider those to be the super valued ones. The metal is right but I don't think who was lathing was as good as who was doing it before. Not to say it couldn't be great.
Is the stamp 1/2 way between the outer edge and the bell? (The middle of the cymbal,in other words)
If so,circa 1957-61 I recall that being from (Intermediate Stamp).
They have a different look/sound from the "Old Stamps" and "New Stamps"
Thanks to all for the info.
It is I believe an Intermediate stamp. Very late '50's to mid '60's. It has the final form of the Arabic script, the Made in Turkey wraps closely around the moon, The star is small enough to fit inside the moon, and the stamp is half way between the bell and the edge. That's the only stamp to have all those characteristics together.
