I was out picking recently and came across this. It appears to me to be a bit more than old trash. I'm guessing it was a sample of sorts to show how the new Weather Master drum heads were consturcted and tucked into the hoop. Anyone seen one of these before?

that's very neat. initially I thought, why wouldn't it just be a section of the hoop and the wrap..duh! it would have to be round! if you ever decide to cut it loose, give me a shout..

It's a sales rep's sample or retailer's floor sample of the very first Ludwig plastic drum head material.

Agreed indeed, and +9!

I remember seeing a board of these with different types of head material on them someplace... Maybe at 'Gospel Music' which was a music store back in the dim dark 50's and 60's (maybe into the 70's & 80's, not sure) in Fresno, CA.

For the longest time it was one of the few places you could get drum 'stuff', and it was just down the street from 'Arthur's Toy Shop' which was where I perused and purchased slot car stuff.

My 59 transition kit still has those original heads! I only do some recordings with them, and they sound glorious.
