Offset Shield-Shaped Lugs on mystery snare

Thinking of passing on paying nearly $55 as it seems to be budget steel(?) and only 6 lugs(?) anyone recognise this?

It looks to me that it is Ernie the generic Asian import snare drum with some "dare to be different" lugs.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

Yes. It looks to be an Asian copy of a Sonor style "teardrop" lug.

Ya right of course

Just had that “I’m not a ‘Me Too’ Snare, honest!” Look about it!

I had a snare drum for a while that had lugs like that. One of the members here said the brand was Trak. As a brand they don't have a good reputation, but that chrome snare I had wasn't horrible. Nothing special but it worked.

I would look around a lot before spending fifty bucks for one. You can go on shopgoodwill and get a Tama or Pearl chrome snare for less than that.

early Mapex dual bass drum Saturn kit
1964 Leedy Ray  Mosca kit in Blue Sparkle
1959 Slingerland Super Gene Krupa snare in WMP
1968 Slingerland Hollywood Ace Snare Drum
1969 and 1977 Ludwig 400 Supraphonic snares
1965 Acrolite snare
Ludwig Coliseum snare
'68 Rogers Dynasonic snare
Pearl free floating piccolo snare
13" Mapex piccolo snare
6.5" deep Mapex steel snare
Mapex 6.5" Brass snare
I know there's more snares than that.

Yep. Asian. I had a big six and a half incher made of cheap brass. Same strainer and lugs. Sounded awful but, was bright and shiny. The guy at the pawn shop loved it!
