Hi Folks,
1st time on the forum! I have a 6 (1/2) x 14, 10 lug, bow tie, supraphonic(?), chrome/metal(?) Ludalloy, p85 black center, no serial, keystone badge/Chicago. It was purchased new as part of a 5 piece, concert tom set in 1984. How can I learn what is considered to be this model? Consistent with similar snares of similar vintage, there is some pitting. Has anyone learned more about this odd bird? I'm wondering if the plants just used left over parts from different years and models in order to cut costs and push out snares? It's funny because while it has no identity, that's exactly what gives it its charm and identity. It has warmth, great tone and super pop. I do know that Bonham preferred the Ludalloy Supra over COB, but most likely not this model Ludalloy. I thank you and look forward to your thoughts. PS Interestingly, the other drums in this set have serial numbers. Thanks again.
