Does anyone have a pic of this drum after restore?

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!

Gosh, it's been four years already??

I still have this drum and I still haven't restored it. I feel a bit ashamed.

The reason is that I found out it's metric sized. I wanted to buy some calfskin heads for it, but they cost hundred times what I paid for the drum (no kidding) so I sort of let that be until I have lots of money to spare :D Not gonna happen any time soon, I guess.

I tried distancing the lugs from the shell with washers and using intl. heads and rims. That is possible, but the drum doesn't sound good, the snare sensitivity is poor. Can you get mylar metric heads for a reasonable price? I don't feel like special-ordering them from Remo.

Sometimes, old metric snares with calfskin heads appear for sale for not very high prices here so I might buy one and scavenge the heads.

You're in Czech Republic?

Stdrums in Germany has reasonable priced metric heads.

stdrum.de

They could send them to you.

If I'm not mistaken they only have smooth white, in several thicknesses (for batter and reso).

I also know a company in the Netherlands, I could look it up for you, but I'd first try stdrums.

Would be a pitty to let such a beautifull snare un played.

Ahoj, tady Arno.

Jaký potřebuješ přesný rozměr v mm? Můžu se zeptat jednoho známého, který vyrábí kangaroo heads.
