Not really vintage, but Yamaha Manu Katche Jr kit...

Not really sure how old this kit is but I won a Manu Katche Jr Yamaha

MIJ kit tonight from Goodwill.

Only really jumped on this as it's MIJ Yamaha shells and really need a super compact kit and it looks complete without major damage.

Just wondering if anyone knows anything about the shell construction, as it's not being made anymore I couldn't really find much information.

Also, any idea when Yamaha stopped making them?

Found a few selling on feeBay right now but again not much info other than they are asking almost 3x what I just paid for one and I got the 12'' snare to boot which they don't have in their Bay listings...

What do you mean you "won" this from Goodwill? Do they have an auction site? Is this the 16" BD?

Hi Agopsalott, yeah, Goodwill has a ecommerce auction business. One can score some deals yet, more so when the auction is pick up only like this one was.

Yeah, the Manu Katche JR kit sizes are 10x7, 13x13 & 16x16. This one had a 12x5 matching snare too and some hardware and a few cymbals.

Wish the kick was 14'' deep though, personally I think a 16x16 or any bass drum that is the same length wise as it is round looks weird, but this kit has the mount for the rack tom to offset that tubular look I hope :)

Nice kit. Congrats. I have two 16" bd kits. Both are 14 deep. I know what you mean about the square look. Still, those will be fun to gig.
