Not Quite Blue Sparkle....

Loading...

Hey guys.

Have a sticky problem, hope someone can help.

I have a 60s Pearl Valancia set in Blue Sparkle. however, with age, the color has darkened, and it doesnt look like todays blue sparkle...its much darker.

I have to recover a 14 inch floor tom to match this set, and i need a really dark blue sparkle (or similar) wrap.

Anyone have any suggestions on where/what/who to look?

I appriciate any and all suggestions.....thanks.

The only way is to get one of the custom color wraps. No one makes anything even remotely similar to it today. I have some samples from JamminSams, they are not close enough to call it a match, but for the holes, I use them in small rounds under hardware to repair and cover "extra drilling adventures". The problem is even with a new, custom color, the old will continue to fade and the new will never catch up.

Jon, thank you for taking the time to reply.

I just cant believe that No one makes a wrap that close enough to pass as a match for the old Pearl Blue Sparkle. Someone has to make a dark blue with some sparkle like finish......

Well the fade is always different on each set, so you might check Sams. He will send you a sample of the 2 he carries, so will Precision, or any of the others. Could you post a pic of it so we can see the colors? One of the unfaded and one of the faded?

You can try Drummaker... they offer Colorwraps which is a way to custom match their offerings to your existing faded color.
