I'm slowly becoming a Vintage person (my age & otherwise).

I was going to have a drum builder drill some holes & put lugs on this drum - reso side. It's a 1953 Gretsch 3ply floor tom that had a tacked on head at one time.

I even bought hoops, calfhide heads, lugs and a whole sheet of Gold Sparkle wrap. Not going to do it now - changed my mind.

I bought the correct leg mounts on-line - the Gretsch/Gladstone era tube-like mounts. I will look for proper tacks and tack a calfhide head on it and I will tuck a calfhide on the batter. I'm leaving the finish the way it is - it's a cool looking drum. I don't have it - the drum builder's had it since July or so but thank God he's been way to busy to touch it. But he did check the drum out when it arrived and told me it is a very nice drum.

I'm picking it up early next week. It will be a sweet little project. I'll post some photos when I get it up-n-running.
