No Badge or Airhole

Loading...

Hi,

I am looking at a Slingerland (?) floor tom. There is no air hole and so no badge. A different set of leg mounts were put on and you can see on the wrap the outline of the old Slingerland shaped mounts. It has a time stamp of 63 and a P stamp. I was told that some early sixties floor toms did not have air holes. I had never heard this before. Any help identifying this drum would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

David

I found the answer buried deep in the forum pages. No badge or airholes in Slingerland toms until late in 63.

This site is a wealth of information. Thanks to everyone who provides all this wonderful knowledge.

Just in the spirit of accuracy, Slingerland actually did not start putting badges on its Slingerland-brand toms until June of 1966. In any case, a 1963 Slingerland tom with no badge is correct.

Thanks for the correct info. And to think, I almost passed on a good drum!
