WoW I love the red marine pearl and would buy them for sure

if I were in Canada or if they were local ..or if I could arrange for shipment

I have some nice red marine U.S. Mercs (stage band style lugs)

but only bass, snare, and mounted tom (no floor tom)

I could be happy with finding just a red marine floor tom ..but the whole matching kit would really be great

As for being Crown drums ..I don't think so ..based on my one and only Crown kit here now

Thanks human71

and sorry about that

I did not look all that close and am blind as a bat on top

I saw the badges and just assumed they were those round, blue, "made in japan badges"

I bought this kit for the collection

Many thanks to my new friend Neil

Neil was my seller all the way up there in Burlington Ontario Canada

Early on in my negotiations with Neil

I described to him my Japanese drum display

and provided some photos of it, as it sits thus far

Neil was so inspired with the display

that he turned down all local offers for the kit, removed the ad, and arranged for shipping from Canada

Then in a most trusting and no question ill advised gesture

He sent along the drums without one penny toward payment received beforehand

The drums arrived intact, despite perhaps the worst job of packing I have ever encountered

Neil you are the best pal !!

Hey Mitch,

thanks for the reply man

I already removed the second

bayonet mount off of the rail doing away completely

with the oddball black concert style tom

so right away the kit looks so much better

once I get some resonant side heads on and some fresh coated Remos topside

They are going to look freakin AWESOME

sitting just down the way from this blue marine pearl Zim Gar kit

with the round, silver, (not blue) Zim Gar badges and odd luddy-like lugs

(these are all paid for, but still waiting for or me to pick up... come my next courier run to NYC)

The blue one has wood BD hoops, that's always a bit of a bonus with the MIJs. Both kits are pretty sweet I'd say.

And thanks for getting rid of the oddball tom :)

hehehe Yes Mitch on the red, the oddball tom just really had to go

as for the blue Zim Gar kit

I like when these MIJs come thru with wooden hoops

..except of course when they are all warped and out of round

Looks like the mounted tom is missing the internal muffler

and also the seller has it mounted upside down??

On the floor tom there is some major lifting at the seam

I paid three bills firm for them and with no shipping

I must pick them up in Metuchen NJ

hopefully the next time my company sends me in that general direction

Still I think there is enough unique things about them to justify the price and the pick up problem
