Hello again, non U.S.A. drum peeps

I am interested in this cool vintage looking no-name drum kit

just the three shells bass, tom, and floor tom (no snare)

They are being offered as 60's MIJ for 200.00 plus the shipping

By the looks and based on other kits I have found they look more like 70's MIT to me

They have the 70's and newer style Pearl generic lugs

and the bass drum has the same hex shaped double tom mount receiver

as Cortley C.B. 700 and Royce drum kits

Identical also to this little no-name blue sparkle kit (pictured)

purchased last winter from a little old lady in Natick, Mass.

for a whopping 35$

They all use one of two similar variations of a Rogers inspired swiv-o-matic tom arm

I was just wondering, from some of you non U.S.A. experts

what you guys think as to price origin and timeline for this kit ??

I do really like the yellow satin flame-like wrap on them

Thanks Kenwood

Howdy Rims n Skins

and Thank you for the reply ..so you think 70's not 60's as I do

But MIJ rather my thought of them being MIT?

Were the others MIJ Cortley ,Royce,C.B. 700

I somehow believed they were produced in Taiwan

by that point in production ..but this is why I am asking as I am not sure

Those are both nice kits!

Generic Pearl lugs on both of them it looks like. I'd say early 70's.

You mentioned CB-700's... for some odd reason I'm thinking the early ones were MIJ -vs- MIT, but I could very well be wrong. The early CB's with the keyhole or whatever you want to call it lugs are much nicer than the later ones. IMHO.

That's a good question: When did the Asian brands switch from MIJ to MIT? I seem to think mid 70's? Maybe a bit earlier.

Hello fishwaltz ,

Thanks for the reply

Yes Those older C.B. 700 kits with the wristwatch lugs were pretty nice

I salvaged a wristwatch kit from the curb a few years ago

same mounting hardware as the two kits above but with the wristwatch lugs rather the pearl generics ..still even with that kit

I was never sure of the build origin, but always leaned more toward MIT
