Unfortunately that is the original wrap. Back in the 90's Ludwig was having all sorts of problems with the thinner wraps like WMP,OBP,BDP as they would shrink in cold environments. Ludwig was obviously aware of this and had to re-wrap sets for customers as this was an ongoing problem. Ludwig does not make the wrap, they get it from some other company so the I'm not sure why Ludwig had so many specific problems. Other companies seem to have faired better and the sparkles Ludwig offered seemed to hold up better as the wrap is thicker and stronger. I have a few wrap sample swatched from the early 2000's and the pearls are all curved up while the sparkles are straight as an arrow.
Fortunately Ludwig has managed to get better wraps now that are supposed to be UV protected and they use a high bond process called wrap-tite. Those wraps should not have any problems now and if they were to, Ludwig is pretty good about taking care of an issues. I should prob work for Ludwig! Lol....
