Newbie Here with Rogers Holiday Black Onyx Pearl

I thought that was a 12" x 15" when I saw the photo! I kept wondering why you were calling it a 14".

John

Too many great drums to list here!

From Shireman Scott

Hello, I'm new here and getting ready to start a restore project. I walked into my friendly neighborhood drum shop and what to my wondering eyes should appear? Almost an exact duplicate of the first drum set I ever had back in the 70's. A neglected set of Rogers Black Onyx Peal. Kick is a Holiday 22, 13 Rack also a Holiday, and the 14 inch floor is a Tower, all is the same wrap. No Snare. I paid $500.00 for them.No damage to the wrap at all on the toms, kick has a couple very small extra holes in it.Tom arm is bent.4 of the Bass Drum Bow Ties need replaced.I've not taken anything off the drums to start yet.I'm wanting to fix this kit up and gig on it. Thoughts on where to start? How to date this kit?http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6040/6227346283_d95c3e78ac.jpgThanks for any and all help.Peace

Sorry for the delay. I've not been on here for quite some time. Thank you for contacting me but I'm not interested in selling at this time. Blessings S

I believe I have this same kit. Same finish. 13, 16, 22, 14 inch powertone snare. I have gigged with this kit for years and get all sorts of compliments on the sound and look. I ended up putting a pearl i.s.s mount on the 13 and mounting it on a cymbal stand. (if anyone tries this, make sure the rim fits the mount correctly or else).

I'm looking at getting a new kit to use out, and eventually get these back to "all original". I, too, will need a cymbal arm for the bass drum. Wouldn't mind a rogers kick pedal and hihat stand either. (funny thing, my very first set [a heavily used ludwig rocker II] came with the hihat stand for this kit, I used it for years but, got a new pearl stand and lost track of the rogers stand. boo)

and these old wraps... not a wrinkle. barely a scuff. ...durable to say the least.

Congratulations on gettin a hold of one of these kits.
