I concur with Mikey, I just want more pix...darn, ruined it...Just Kidding! Anyway, let's see the rest of yer tubbies. The Pearl designed rail is a good design, once you klearn how it works. They both, or all three...four...ever how many we can attribute certain parts and pieces to. So far, Filthy, we have certainly and positvely, almost without a doubt maybe, identified three major players of the stencil makers in the old days. And now, yesterday, our brother on another shore, in the land that gave us the stencil drum, Japan, has posted yet another sample from yet another maker, and it has different attributes, yet the same, Nikkan. So heres the run down on what we think we know as histerians:Coffee Break2
Pearl, the same old girl we have always known.
Star, the venenrable old drum builder that is now known as TAMA.
Hoshino, don't ask me who they are today, ask O'bop.
And now Nikkan, which later merged with Yamaha to become their drum building division, which is, very much arguably, one of the best set of drums available today. And many will argue this, just watch around here for a few days...
So, Pearl it is for you, a stencil, or copy, of a Slingerland, due to the lug design, or a Ludwig, due to the rail design. Got a headache yet?Party
