new vistalites VS. vintage!

my band played with this touring band from Grand Rapids, MI. on Sunday and their drummer had a 70's clear vistalite set that sounded killer.

i have not heard the new(er) ones.

which sound better?

however,

i did hear a newer Fibes crystalite jelly-bean kit and i instantly went home and put my kit on ebay to try to get the money for it.

then someone bought it..

I've heard them both...they sound the same to my ears.....new ones are made out of better plastic than the old ones and the seams hold up better.
