New to site!

I would like to say hi to everyone and I am new to this site. I have been collecting vintage drums since I was 14 so some 17 years now. The only set that I have currently I just pulled out of it's 13 year storage. I had a guy purchase another set off of me a year ago and he told me a couple of neat things about my kit. The major one was that I have owned this kit for 17 years and had never known that it was orignaly a four piece instead of it's current five piece arrangement. Does this effect value? The toms and snare are marked '66 and the bass is '65. Hopefully my pics work I had to modify their size a bit.

Welcome to the site!

I am a little confused by your post. You have been collecting for 14 years...but you only have one kit...and you wanna know how much it is worth?

Is that correct? Or was the "collecting" thing a joke because the drums were storage?

Either way. Welcome to the site. Thats all I am gonna say!

I guess it was confusing.... I have had a lot of kits over the years but it was hard to keep all of them and started selling. I kept this one because it was the first and it was given to me by a friend. I had it squirreled away and just set it up after 13 years of being stored away. The value thing is not important but I was just wondering if the tom add-on effected value.

Got ya.

If you can take the tom off and it could be set up in its factory configuration then no. Because of the badges not facing out...it looks like both of your toms are made to be "high" toms in a right handed configuration....so that is why it is an issue if it is set up as a twin tom set up.

If there is a different mount in the bass drum because of the additional tom (a double mount) then you would need to get the single tom mount to have it be in factory condition.

In the vintage drum world "original" is always better. Thats about all I can tell ya.

Cool kit!

I figured it was a stage band. Another Thing is that I does no have the push button legs. It sounds like I have to find some hardware if I want it orignal. It is a great sounding kit one of the best I have had. The only things I have left that I might want to sell are a few misc. hardware pieces like lugs and snare throw offs. But they are nice to have around for extras.

That would be ok for resale but to use keep it the way it is the push buttons are a major pain!!

The floor tom doesn't seem to match. It's got lugs top and bottom instead of double ended lugs down the center like the rest of the kit. Here's a pic of a really nice stage band that just sold on ebay. Welcome
