New to forum-Sonor fan

Loading...

Hi, just found this site and am enjoying some of the threads so far. I own a set of Sonor rosewood Phonics and a newer Sonic Plus.

My main reason for joining is to get more knowledge of vintage cymbals and starting a collection (slowly so i don't make my wife so mad). I have a few late 60's early 70's A's rides and crashes i like but would like to really get some older ones for a more jazz/bebop sound to use with my 12,14,18 phonic set up.

Looking forward to reading more post as time allow. BTW i've been a member of the sonor museum board for a long time so if there are any members here from there stop and say HI!

Gary.

Well, you look younger than I thought! How do you reach everything?

Very nice set. Not going to be much help with cymbals. I have Zildjian Custom A's that I like. Also an newer Bosphorous 16" crash I am fond of. Switch between vintage 14" New Beat hihats and newer 15" Cusom A Mastersounds. Mostly it is best to try cymbals out as side by side even the same model can sound different.

A am over on the other forum as well. I have a 68 set of Red Pearl Teardrops (22-13-16 + snare).

Hi, I am also new to this. I have an old sonor that I am getting info on. I have posted pictures, and was wondering about the cymbals. As I have no idea what time period these are from. Any help with this would be gratefully appreciated. Love the pics you posted.

Well from what i understand there has been a recent influx of spammers recently. The Rev. has been screening all new registers. Be patient, he operates the site all by himself with so it takes a while to get through all the extras to get to the legitimate user.

If you have any questions maybe this site can answer them.

Gary.
