Hey everyone, been checking this site often for a long time finally joined.. I picked up this beauty today. From what I can tell it appears to be a late 30's early 40's WFL Zephyr 8 lug snare. The badge is missing and there doesn't seem to be evidence of one ever being there.? The drum is in great condition. I want all the info I can get on this baby. Has no evidence of restoration. Seller said it's been in a basement for over 30 years. I am planning on cleaning it up and putting a badge on it just not positive which one goes on it. Any info on the calfskin head would help too! Thanks everyone, great to be part of the forums.

The drum to me is from the world war 2 years.The drum has been re-finished that's why no badge..Look on the forum under W.F.L. badge's you will see the missing badge that would be on the drum....Mikey

I agree with Mikey...The snare has been refinished...The finish looks too "perfect" to be original...Plus, the missing badge also supports this...

Oh man! I saw that drum on CL about 6pm last night. I was going to try to buy it this morning. Neat drum. You got a good deal!
