From green glass drum

"Biggest bummer is the bass drum size is less than 20"! It measures about 19.75" so if anyone knows where to find heads for this I'd appreciate the info."Sir, not a bummer. A 20" drum should measure from 19 7/8" to 19 3/4" OD.Drums are always a bit smaller in OD.A Standard size, 20" BD head will fit well.

Wouldn`t a 20' on a 19 3/4' leave an 8th" floating head all the way around ?

Green, I did try a 20" head as soon as I got them home and there was too much slop. The hoops also would not fit over a 20" head. At times, in measuring the naked shell, because of being out of round, I was getting 19.5"

I will try a different head soon or take the hoops with me to the store. Do they make odd sizes?

I decided not to rely on measuring an out of round shell, so I measured the factory reso head...

Yep, 19.5" bass drum.

Thats a Roxy Made by Tromsa Kombination M3-and as far as i know they can be in metric sizes. I think late 50s early 60s. Roxy as far as i know was a Musical Instrument seller in Hamburg that orderd the sets by Tromsa with Roxy Badges.

STDRUMS in Germany sells metric heads for a case like that;-)

The only bummer is the missing floor tom (unless the tom & snare heads are undersized as well requiring specialized heads).

As for me.....European drums - .....someday! (no hurry though)

I once passed on a mint red silk 60s Olympic 12,14,20,14sn.....for $225....my most painful regret of my entire drumlife.

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!

Remo will make any size head if you provide the hoop (about twice the regular price). They also have ambassadors that are undersize and they have the same serial #'s as regular size heads but with BR added to it. Your other option id to put spacers under the lugs to gain some height and you can then use 20" hoops and heads.

Keep fixing them up...

Spacers would wok.
