I just got home with this weird ensemble: 20" Powertone kick, 12" Powertone tom, 14" XP8 & 16" Big R floor (grey interior). Downside is a memrilock tom holder was added to the kick & 12" tom, but I got it all at a more than decent price and won't feel bad about splitting these up and keeping a few things I needed to finally complete my Big R's. More pics to come (these are the sellers).

Again , not the best pics. I'll have to take them outdoors...but I gave in & thanks to a surprise run of gigs I'm able to keep them! The 14 x 10 works just fine as a floor tom & is almost more balanced sonically. Since I already own a black Big R Londoner 5 this will give me lots of setup options too. & the 20 x 14 Powertone kick is my new favourite! Just killer tone!

It really is a gas to find drums that you love the sound of... the 'keepers.'
Enjoy em... may the string of gigs go unbroken!
John
The 10x14 in this unusual Rogers Pink Strata drum set worked out very well as a floor tom when mounted to a cradle. It fit in very well sonically with the 14x22, 9x13, and 16x16. The drums seemed to have three different versions of the Pink Strata. I'm not a guy who has extreme OCD. But, this mismatching bothered me. I traded them even up for a similar vintage drum set.
Thanks guys! Bess You, John! Here's a quick low quality vid just for ****s & giggles. The toms are still tuned low for friday's gig, but they sounded huge like that through a PA. I probably should have raised them to medium for crappy cell phone video, but hey...

Rogers 20x14,s are nothing short of magical. I,ve never forgotten the sound of that drum, which I foolishly traded years ago.

I got a Worldmax floor tom cradle today and since I don't have any decent shots of this kit set up I decided to drag it all out in the yard.
