New Orange Mod in the family Last viewed: 6 hours ago

Now that they are tucked away in the basement, I figured a new thread was in order. Thanks to everyone who replied to my earlier posts.

This old goat was listed locally on Craigslist with a couple of crappy pictures. It is rough, but not just your run of the mill abused-by-a- teenager rough. Imagine if you can: It was played hard, stored in a pickup without cases and hauled in and out of honky tonk bars for 30 years.

8x12, 9x13, 16x16 and 14x22 - All serial numbers in the 617xxx range

17" Zildjian Crash and 20" Zildjian ride (very heavy), 14" Camber Hats

Pitted supra, serial number 125xxx

Very heavy vintage Tama stands and BD pedal.

Odd sized Playa Roto Toms, 5 1/2, 7 1/2 & 9 1/2

Freebies: cigarette burns and the worst tom rash I have ever seen (right through the wrap). MIJ floor tom brackets and legs. Bass drum interior is painted black. The seller swears that it is original, because his brother got the drums new and he remembers that the black was already there. To my eye, it looks original or it was professionally applied early on.

More to follow, with questions.

I have lugs, Ts/Claws, and floor tom leg mounts for that bad boy if you are interested. Id go with chrome inlay bass hoops until you find the other original hoop. Its gonna take some time! Worth saving though for sure!

More pictures, including the MIJ FT brackets. Thankfully, the spacing was the same so there are no extra holes or elongated holes.

I just read up on this post and saw that you are possibly working out a deal with another member for the parts you need. Didnt mean to step on any toes there! Let me know if you come up short on parts from your other deal. As I said, i do have lugs, rods, Ts, and leg mounts available.

Thanks!

BTW those floor tom legs look original! Brackets are obviously wrong, but I think the legs are correct!

In additional to being generally sticky and smelling like old beer, here's the bad.

I'm not currently working on anything specific. Based on the problems, I could use as many opinions and potential parts sources as possible.

Thanks,

jim
