Has anyone played one of these kits? I think they are 2ply maple, 3ply poplar and 2ply maple with rounded over edges. They have the Imperial lugs, made in Monroe, North Carolina.

Haven't had a chance to play any. But I have seen them and heard them being played. They are fantastic drums.

I played the blue and white pearl ltd editions (I think they came out 2013?)? they were Chinese but sounded really good.

Check out the Drum Center of Portsmouth video on YouTube comparing different Ludwig USA models. You will be able to compare the club dates to your classic maples.

I saw that video, very cool, but to tell you the truth, I didn't hear much difference between any of the kits they reviewed.
