New here- need help pricing some cymbals

Loading...

We are cleaning house and purging things that aren't being used and we need help pricing some cymbals.

My husband has had them since he was about 5, and he's 37 now so they are at least 32 years old. We have a 19" and 20" vintage zildjian crashes in excellent shape, no cracks, no keyholes, tops bear the zildjian stamp and bottoms bear a hollow zildjian logo.

Also appears zildjian discontinued the oriental trash crash...excellent condition, no cracks/keyholes 16".

Zildjian zxt trashformer 14", excellent condition, barely used, no cracks, no keyholes

Like new Sabian vault crash 17", played with vic firth pad on it for sound dampening so as to not tick off the neighbors so little if any stick marks.

I would suggest that you use Ebay and do an advanced search of completed items with the descriptions you have for each individual cymbal. That would give you a good average.

With value, you can search eBay completed items for similar cymbals and what they have sold for. I usually figure in shipping partly in to the equation.

For example: Zildjain 16" Oriental Crash.

None have sold, but the 18" and 20" versions have sold from $140 - $190.

There is a 16" on eBay listed at $150 + $12 shipping and no buyers. So it is safe to say the 16" is probably in the $100 - $130 range.

I would do this for each cymbal over a weeks time and then you will have a good range of your cymbals value.

The Zildjian 19" and 20" are worth about $125 or so.

....the Vault crash is probably the most valuable cymbal of the lot.

The Trashformer is seriously worth maybe $30-40, if that. Gimmick cymbals ~ those were one-trick ponies...they sold like hotcakes for about 9 months, then their market value went crrrrashhh......electricit
