Look forward to hearing reviews from members - especially new vs. vintage Dynas.

The pics look fantastic.

Hi Dan!

This topic has been discussed quite a bit, here and over at DFO. Here's the link for DFO, with lots of great info... http://www.drumforum.org/index.php?/topic/146998-rogers-wood-dyna-rebirth-or-rehash/?hl=dynasonic#entry1615973

Dixon doesn't have anything to do with it.

The parent company of Dixon, as well as a number of other companies... which make everything from lugs used by major manufacturers, hoops, parts of various sort, shells of various composition etc.... Reliance Musical.

I do have one on the way.

The product looks very promising from everything I have seen and read.

Hopefully folks give honest objective reviews. Good or bad.

Too often people have their minds made up ahead of time. There are folks trying to validate their purchase with glowing reviews while others will bash a product just cause they want it to fail.

Honestly at first the idea of the shell not being American made put me off but I have to admit it looks stunning in the pictures and it sounds fantastic in Steve's video but I imagine Steve can make anything sound good so........

Thanks for that Mark. Lots of interesting points made in that forum. I'd like to see a side-by-side demonstration at some juncture.

I was surprised to see them showing up in New Hampshire. When I lived in MA, I used to stop by that shop from time-to-time when it was still in the City of Portsmouth. Even though I'm still in ME part of the year, the shop is out of the way (well off the highway) now in Hampton, NH. I have drum cases and such from them. Good shop overall.

I guess I would be tempted to get one of these new ones if they do produce a 5x14 with beavertail lugs and red or blue onyx finish. For now, I have a good stash of the original wood and metal units, so not too eager to jump on the WMP model with B&B lugs. I sold my original 67-ish red onyx unit last year and got top dollar. However, in all the years I've been involved with vintage drums, it was only red onyx one that came available (except one that was in the UK). In the end though, the price I was offered was just too high to resist, so someone else is enjoying it now.
