New Citrus Mod Already in Clearance

Loading...

The long awaited reproduction of Citris Mod is already in the clearance bin at Maxwell Drums. That's a tiny bit shocking. The video accompanying those drums indicates they sound great. However, they are at or below the prices being asked for an original Downbeat 3-piece in only fair condition. Is it time to admit them to the vintage designation?

I would argue that the market for the citrus mod wrap would be quite limited. The psychedelic look has limited appeal. I'd love one though.

In my opinion, buying a CM reproduction takes away one of the main reasons why the real deal is so sought after -being the rarity. A reproduction isn't rare. There is no "Raiders of the Lost Ark" kind of treasure hunt involved with a reproduction.

Well, that's not a clearance price....Ludwig makes prototype kits y'know; I'm guessing this may be one.

And even if it's not, that's not a "sale price" for a classic maple three piece.
