I have a line on a pair of newer New Beat hats, but I wonder if my vintage A's will sound similar, if so I mine as well just pass on em and use mine for optional hats, right? or ????

I think the newer New Beats are thicker than the 70's ones and definitely thicker than the 60's ones. I like the older ones myself but the new ones are probably still nice.

gary hats , i think sound best aged if u remember my sets next to u at the show they were some of the best combos that i set up, i wish i would of held on to a set, they were hollow stamps mostly mixed and match with some old A's to my ear i know brass that always has been the most important part of my kit ....new bras has a lot to offer as to not offend no one hear but im a sucker for aged brass i had a set of paper thins from the 20'- (sold at show) that were matched nicely they were wavey bt on the pull they became one pretty cool...
April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp
once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
