THAT...is INSANE.

What a story (if it's true).

An NOS Ludwig from back then, in THAT finish.

Yeah, I would price it at that too (although, honestly...I would probably just contact Ludwig and have them buy it from me ...I am sure they'd want it)

Yeh, I'm sure it's for real & true, usually is if the member of trademe has good feedback, unless their account was hijacked, unlikely though.

I agree though, I would have gone to Ludwig first for sure.

That's NZ Dollars too, so only probably 30K USD

All the best.

Wow! I wonder if the person who buys it is going to take it out of the boxes or wait until 2040 to sell it again...???

Apparently the kit was bought 2 hours after it was listed it by a collector in Germany.

Probably pay to keep it packaged up I reckon.

Fascinating stuff.

The photo in the auction was robbed from a real set for sale.

Most likely this was a scam or bad joke.

Nope, I'm confident it's for real, but he did use that photo because he wanted a photo of the same kit set up, and he told us about that after the auction closed. Check the link again for the explanation. He's got about 15 vintage classic kits apparently.
