After hunting for something like 3 years, I bought this:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/221386106733?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

Poll:

1. Great deal, the last one I saw sold for $300

2. Hey, it's only money, who needs that dirty green stuff anyway

3. Awesome score, well done!

4. Searching for 3 years? It cost ONLY about 10 cents a day!

Good score. If you are happy with the deal you got it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks.

I waited 3 years for a club date floor tom, had to pay 475.00 for it but the search is over and my kit is complete. I don't regret the decision one bit. So I say, good score!

Thank you!

1920s-30s nickel and it still looks like that?? I'd say you paid too little. And yes, after 3 damn years I'd say it's worth every dime :)

Great condition, original nuts, screws, washers. That is a outstanding score!

Happy factor of a long sought after part found well below last known selling price. Priceless!!

Congrats,

Creighton

I don't own any Leedy snares, so that strainer wouldn't be worth $20 to me, but if I owned a snare that needed that component, and I'd been waiting for 3-years to complete the drum, that strainer would be priceless to me, and I would have easily dropped the bucks you did. I think you paid a small price to resurrect a vintage snare back to life.

The way I look at it is like this: I would rather pony up and grab a rare item when it appears rather than hold out for a bargain. If you waited for 3 years for one to appear then good job grabbing that one.

It is only money.

You can walk around with $150.00 in your pocket for years and you still wouldn't have an og 1930's Leddy throw off.

Some things are worth more than the money the cost.

Well worth it for that drum!

Seller is Bruce Simpson...

He and I used to do trades 15-20 years ago over the phone...pre interweb...no pics.....

He would describe/I would describe....then send both the same day...

He sent me 12 Grestch RB drums (3 kits) for my 1940's Top Hat And Cane snare...
