I have a vintage mij kit that has a cymbal mount in the bass drum.
Does anyone know where I could find a straight cymbal arm that would fit?
Thanks.
For these straight telescopic cymbal posts, I have sometimes pilfered the top section of an otherwise beat up old MIJ cymbal stand-------the old flat based ones that were Slingerland knockoffs are good victims. Sometimes you can find one around with no feet and or stripped threads. They should have a removable tilter ( or fixed, if later) that hopefully is intact.---depends of course on diameters, of the mount and the upper section..

On these M.I.J. set's the hole size can be many size's.The one ytou have looks to be 5/16 you can buy a chrome rod and add a tilter to it...I have many 60's M.I.J. tilter's and may have the rod also...Mikey
thanks for the reply's!
calfskin - I also thought of using the rod from an old hi hat stand but it might be too long
mikey777 - I may contact you once I have figured out the diameter I need if my attempts at taking parts from hi hat or cymbal stands are unsuccessful.
Sometimes an old floor tom arm will fit. My Clubdates are like that so in a pinch I used a floor tom arm, added a tilter and you are in business. Good luck,Vati
I am not sure what you guys mean by "add a tilter to it' - how would I do that?
