From teverson-sr

I apologise for misunderstanding the subject of specifically ROC brand as opposed to made in ROC/MIT.I spoke to the owner at length about construction and configurations. He was very accommodating and the higher end set still only ended up being about 1/2 the price of an American or other high end set. But,sub grade hardware and gigging 5 nights a week don't go together...

No apologies necessary, you're right, as was your previous post.

@ teverson-sr you are right! This Sets are not High end Quality and for really crazy Rockaction everyday, they are are not made as well.

I just think this old Sets are a lot cooler and better build than the new cheap gear you get! And for the use i need it, they are perfect:-)

This post brought back memories of the ROC ads in Modern Drummer decades ago! I've got my entire MD collection in storage. Now, I really want to get them out, find some of the ads, scan them and post them for all to see!

Exactly! An old CB-700 / Cheap Tama or Pearl, most anything from that era will work wonderfully for student drums. Why use the cheap crap available today when these are cheaper, and better made.
