Need help with a WFL Classic throw off

Hey guys;

I recently picked up an old WFL that was sitting disassembled in a box. Got it home, put it together, sounds great. Problem is, every time I hit a rim shot the throw off lets go and the snares turn off. My guess is that I have it assembled wrong and I am not overly familiar with Ludwig stuff so here I am. Can someone help me get this together?

What I have is the throw off unit itself, an adjustment knob, a spring, a slotted bolt, a washer with a tab that fits into the slotted bolt, a regular flat washer and a lock washer, all pictured below. My guess is the lock washer and the flat washer go on the bolt, the bolt goes thru the shell, threads into the throw off unit, through the throw off lever, spring, adjustment knob.

Can someone please set me straight?

the long threaded bolt that runs through the entire strainer has a slotted channel in it. make sure the brass colored washer it has a u shape in the hole to stay in the slotted bolt.

Thanks. Any idea of the order of the rest of the pieces? Did I have it right?

yes you have the order right the lock washer and the flat washer, are on the inside of the shell slide the long threaded bolt though the shell hole. and then slide the strainer onto the long bolt.then place the copper slotted washer inside the flat strainer spring load mount, I think you know the rest of it correct?

I think I have it now. The spring sits between the bushing the lever screws into and the adjustment knob, correct?

Thanks Hoppy, unfortunately that is a schematic of a newer style throw. They appear similar from the outside but mine has an extra spring that fits in there somewhere while the throw in this schematic does not. I have another drum with the throw from the schematic, which is why I thought putting this one together wouldn't be a problem.
