need HELP to date this snare

Loading...

Hi Every one. I´m new here !!! I need information about this snare that I´v already buyed. I think that here are some wrong information and i dont know if I sould return the snare to the seller.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280717791064&ssPageName=ADME:B:BCA:US:1123#ht_8177wt_946

I´m pretty sure that is not a Hollyood Ace, The Budge looks like a HSS, but i dont know the year !!!

The serial is: 934894. They do this Black Diamond Pearl in Taiwan? I´m lost.

If some one can help me to date this snare it will be great !!! An also how much a snare like this cost !

Thank you very much !!!!

1964 Slingerland would have a Niles IL badge.

That serial number you list would put the drum in the 1990's,

It has no re-rings so there is no way it is a '64 drum

Well it's back on the 'Bay with the same description.None of the black/bronze Slingy badges say "USA" on the VDG,but that is only up to 86.Can it say "USA" and be Taiwan?I'm thinking no.Description says "Rapid"strainer, not Zoomatic.Does anyone out there have an opinion on HSS drums,if indeed that's what this is?I've had no experience with them at all.It doesn't look like a poorly constructed drum-but it is not what is described.

On further investigation this is probably an Amerasian hybrid "Artist"series drum from the Gretsch takeover era.At least that's what was talked about on another site....

That is an HSS snare. The inside looks alot like my 89/90 era HSS shells.

That snare also did not have the mahogany inner ply that you would see with the Hollywood Ace snares.
