Need Help Relacquer Vintage Grestch Drumset

Loading...

I have a 1970 Yellow lacquer Tony Williams Gretsch set.

owned for 50 years.

It has some nicks, chips etc and I want to get it refinished.

What is the best way to go about this?

Unless you know how to work with the lacquer - suggest you check out local furniture restoration shop. At least contact them for what is possible and what might take more effort to refinish than you can afford.

I would never do this myself. Would a furniture restoration shop be able to match the nitron lacquer. or would an automotive paint shop be more appropriate

I know you didn't ask but those nicks and chips etc. are part of the history of the set and part of your history with it. Maybe give it a good clean and shine, I bet it would look outstanding.

Believe it or else!
