Hello Everyone! Thanks for the responses. Yes, the snare is a Slingerland with a badge and all. But now have learned the throw off has been replaced. (New to vintage drums) The shells are 3 ply with thicker rims. I am still reading and learning about vintage drums. I'd have to say playing this kit feels and sounds completely different than any other kit I've owned. Every time I walk by it, I have to play it. It's inspiring. I am replacing the bass drum tension rods with modern tension rods for gigging purposes. (It's to awesome not to gig it)
The bass drum still has BOTH original heads on it. I think I'm going to leave the reso side and replace the batter. Any suggestions? Was considering trying the Aquarian Modern Vintage II for toms and snare possibly. The shells are 9.9 out of 10. I've only found 3 small scuffs that you only see 2 inches from it and 2 small gouges. I need to get some new lugs for the 13, Any suggestions? Once again thank you for the info!! More than helpful!!!
