I'd say a "New Rock" model from around 1974... With the obvious modification to the throw off...

Cheers

John

I don't think you did ... But I'm in OZ... Some local yokels will drop in soon with a better valuation...

Cheers

Note the '73 catalogue listed that model kit as a 20" BD.. that's why I said '74 ish.. Later it was changed to 22"

Cheers

Is the snare a Slingy? I notice there's a WFL Classic strainer on it, but can't quite make out the rest of it clearly...

I think you did really good for $650.

18 Kits & 40+ snares..

The kit is definitely a Modern Solo 2R or Modern Rock 50N. The drums were the same, but came with different hardware packs. I would say that the cymbal brackets on both sides of the bass drum were installed later and not factory. The Classic strainer on the Sound King snare drum is a novel approach, but as long as it works!

Are the shells 3-ply with rings or the heavier and thicker 5-ply without rings?

Finally, I think you did well for $650.
