Need Help Identifying These Drums (Premier) Older

Loading...

I happen to come across an entire premier drum set complete with Zildjian cymbals, hardware the works...everything but the drum sticks.

After doing some research online I see that premier has been making drums forever and some of their older models are highly collectable.

I have looked and looked and cleaned them up and looked again and can find absolutely NO serials numbers or identification as to when these drums were made. They look pretty aged but that could have been the previous owners fault. Not sure. I will include as many images as possible and if anyone that is an expert on premiers and zildjian cymbals could help me out it would be much appreciated so I can get some more info on what I have...????

The cymbals, you`re gonna have to post close up shots of lables or trademark stamps !!

The drums, I have seen those lugs with that badge before, I think I have pics. because the one I seen is wrapped like the Brittish flag. I`ll look around, but there are Premier guys here !! May take a few days for all here to see !!

Because of the lugs, and the black interior I believe these are an entry level kit called APK or XPK,or maybe a transitional kit pre dating that series.

Hi all, a friend asked me to i.d. a similar kit. His seems to have the same lugs, same badge as Miami's kit, but this one has a wood snare. Any more insight from Premier experts would help us both...

As for what I know, I've seen these lugs on Artist, Cabria APK, APK, XPK kits. The product line differences are in the wood/ply type(s), finish and mfg date.

Thanks in advance for anything else you may know!

Poke`n around a bit, it`s my understanding that the one`s with miami`s and your friends badge are the one`s made in England (like it says on the badge) and the other oval badge`s are from when this line got outsourced to Asia (not on the badge)!! As for the quality, I hear good about them but personally have not played them !!

Their are Premier guys here !!

The black inside means this is an APK - Premier cheapest range at the time.

This one is from the mid/late nineties. Must have been stored in very humid conditions - maybe even salty, near the ocean?

Collectible - not very. But can be nice to play.

Premier collectors call these junk and the beginning of the Age of Trash, these lugs were designed by the same moron who designed the holes in outhousesSoap Box
