Hi all,

Can someone identify this Vintage percussion accessory? It mounts on a cymbal stand and provides different angles to

add additional cymbals or accessories.

A variation of a Gobo head used in the film industry to hold flags, cutters, and arms for lighting. Because of the multiple hole sizes and angles, it could be used for a number applications in the drumming world.

Keep fixing them up...

This accessory was purchased at Bill Crowders' drum shop in Chicago, around 1967.

Hyper-douchenator, left handed smoke shifter, thing-a-majig.....

Looks like some type of science lab piece.

I would venture a guess to hold small cymbal arm or percussion pieces arm to the top thin portion of a cymbal stand.

As previously mentioned, just do a Google search for "gobo head" and you'll find these in the photo and film industry. Mystery solved!!

Those were serious answers. It is indeed a GOBO head, used to join any rod to another rod at variable angles. Examples:

In percussion applications, it could be used to add an additional boom arm to any cymbal rod, or it could be used to mount an accessory (cowbell, tambourine, woodblock) to an existing arm. Rogers managed to accomplish the same thing with one tiny piece...
