Ia'm thinking about bidding on these but what are they?? To me the lugs look like Roger's B&B...Anyone? Mikey
Name these Bongo's
Yeah, those do look like B&B's, or the MIJ copies...
I think I'd name the bongos Maynard and Penelope. Lame
Mikey, those could be any one of a hundred makers. They are not Star or Pearl, that I could find.

Hi, Mikey!
I'd have to agree with John. I have just finished restoring my Star bongos and nothing on these pictures remotely resembles my set. Mine are from the mid-sixties...interiors painted red, typical Star lugs, calfskin heads, faded gold sparkle etc. Finding the make might be very difficult. Good luck, my friend!

That's bongo is one of the cheap model Radio King made.
These bongos weren't made by any of the major drum companies(Slingerland, or Rogers). However, some of their catalogs offered cheap generic bongos imported from Mexico or elsewhere. I have some of these bongos w/ the large hooks, they are cheaply made, & use lugs copied from American makers. I would consider them worthless, except as a toy for kids.
Those lugs do look like Rogers small (peanut) lugs which they stopped using in 1961. They don't look comfortable on the shell. The rods look splayed out. Maybe they were added later?
