Mystery snare might be an early Rogers

Just bought this online. After some research, I think it might be an early Rogers. Could be a Walberg & Auge. I know that a few companies used those hoop clips.

Looks to a 13x3 NOB shell and 8 lugs w/ nickel plated hoops. As far as I know, there is no label, stamp, or badge. Probably dates from 1930s-1940s.

No dents or damage that I'm aware of. Someone took the liberty to install a really gross strainer. That's going. When I find out what I've got on my hands, I'll try to find the correct strainer.

Any info would be helpful.

I'm not at all familiar with drums of this vintage! It does look pretty cool, though, and I'm sure some of our more knowledgeable members will offer their assistance once they see your post.

Gretsch used those too.

I saw a Gretsch snare in Mark's collection with those clips. It's a lot like other hardware of the period. Several companies used a lot of the same suppliers. I've seen several brands with three-point strainers and Presto strainers.

Just found some pictures of a 1927 Gretsch American Orchestral snare. The lug posts look real similar. Sort of a stepped design at the base. Same clips and vent too. Not proof enough for me, but getting there. I'll know for sure when it arrives.

I'd say early Gretsch at this point....but my first guess was going to be Duplex.

My first impression was also Duplex. The shell is unique. I haven't seen one like it, and I haven't come across one in an old catalog. It might be a small brand that never took off. Doesn't seem to be a desirable or collectable drum. Just a player.
